The Woodlands

The Woodlands, located as a part of “Old Chalford”, had in the same family for generations before brought by the current owner, who turned this wonderful cottage into a beautiful house with its history restored. The original cottage, which is now part of the large living area could be traced back to two centuries ago. 

 

The Stroud Valleys has over a thousand years’ history of its industry, but it is the valleys’ legacy as one of the country’s earliest cloth-making areas that has made it unique. And the original cottage of The Woodlands has been part of the heritage since the 18th century. With the industrial revolution of the country, textile manufacturing has virtually disappeared in the area, and a rich built heritage of former mills, associated buildings, and other infrastructures remains. The Woodlands is one of them where you can sit back to history as well as enjoy and experience the beauty of nature at the same time
